ACADEMIC RESOURCE ON SOILS & SOIL HEALTH
Sustainable soil health management involves an in depth understanding of the characteristics of the soil in relation to its role to perform ecosystem services. The Academic Resources section provides comprehensive collection of resources to deepen understanding of soil health and its critical role in global food security, climate resilience, and biodiversity.
The core components of this section include a curated collection of resources designed in the form of power point presentations for teachers, research workers and students. The collection of sixty power point presentations have been organized into twelve sections covering fundamental concepts of soils, soil types, survey and classification, fertility and plant nutrition, Submerged soils, concepts of soil health, assessment tools, management strategies, soil degradation and remediation, organic agriculture, low External Input Agriculture, Sustainable Development goals. Remote Sensing and GIS, tools and its applications. The portal will certainly enhance the learning skills and provide a comprehensive knowledge base opening new avenues of research to ensure long term productivity and health of our soil ecosystem.
